THE 1960's

(1) Capman: In 1966 Jerry was hired as a staff designer at Pelican Films, one of the most creative animation and live-action studios in NYC. The Capman character and commercials were designed by Jerry to introduce the innovative concept of twist-off bottle caps to the American public. Note the John Held, Jr. illustration style, zip-a-tone background and Pop Art influence.

(2) Gaines Variety (test commercial): Jerry created this experimental test commercial in 1967 directly for Benton and Bowles Advertising (not for broadcast). Note the Mike Nichols and Elaine May influence in the voice-overs.

(3) Post Raisin Bran (test commercial): Jerry also created this experimental test commercial in 1967 directly for Benton & Bowles Advertising (not for broadcast). The fantasy concept was achieved through the use of photo animation, camera moves and quick cuts.
